Title Guideline and measure land use zoning for national
sustainable soil : Nan Province case study

The research was aimed to study and analyze the land used of Nan
Province in order to determine guidelines and measures for land use zoning including
recommendations for the land suitability and capacity in the present status. The
study is qualitative research by analyzing land use policies and land use planning, problems and obstacles of land used in Nan Province. Suggestions from the experts
were incorporated into the Nan land use management. The study results indicated
the soil deterioration from erosion caused by plantation in the forest area. Land use
zoning in the forest area is classified into 4 zones 1) Forest protected zone 2) Forest
restored zone 3) Natural resources restored zone with condition 4) Agricultural zone.
The guidelines for develop the land are to promote the measures for soil and water
conservation and change pattern crop in risk area. To determine the suitable areas
for specific plantation such as paddy, field crop and fruit. To provide both forest
conservation and zone for community plantation areas by seriously legal
enforcement with stakeholder cooperation and controlling the suitable land use.
In addition, the land use in province should be managed in small watershed
integration . To accelerated the use of Land Development Act, B.E. 2551. Technology
transfer of good agricultural practice should be promoted. The researches of high
slope land used in forest zone should be further conducted. Land use in the
province should be continuously monitored. Information related to land use should
be unity. CSR by private sectors for forest conservation and restoration should be
promoted and tax reduction could be incentive measure. Governmental agencies
together with private sectors promote capacity of ecology tourism in the way of
"for community by community".
