The purposes of this research were: 1) to study the barriers to cross-border trade
Thailand - Myanmar 2) to study the expectations of businessmen and residents of border Thailand
- Myanmar 3) to create a pattern developing proactive border trade Thailand - Myanmar.
The instruments used in the study were to using the Diamond Model and SWOT
Analysis to assess the external environment and internal organization. Study the problems and
obstacles in the implementation of the border trade Thailand-Myanmar, and with the development
of proactive form of border trade Thailand-Myanmar.
The results of the study were as follows: should be considered from three
perspectives is economic stability and the social and cultural. Should be considerations supporting
industries and industries on both sides of the border. The guidelines are as follows: 1.The
development of the city near the border between the parallel economy Thailand - Myanmar
2. Development associated downstream industries and support industries. 3. Organize border
areas to be ready to face the situation. 4. Promoting and supporting role border town in the center
of learning knowledge in human resource development. 5. Promoting the twin cities in the
lifestyle and cultures together.
Suggestions policy: The direction of the border of the area and States should be
piloted in the open border trade negotiations between Thailand - Myanmar. Suggestions
workshop: organizations, local government and the private sector to determine the direction of the
border, partnerships and good relationships between cities and the organization of border.
Suggestions for further research : Should have in-depth research about the on strategy proactive
border trade Thailand – Myanmar and there should be research on education about the supporting
industry and related industry in the border region, Thailand - Myanmar.
