The objective of the research “The Preparation of Military Officers’ Habitation
after Retirement : Case Study of Air Force Service” were to study about the preparation of
habitation, involving obstacles and problems including the guideline of the preparation of Air Force
Officers’ Habitation before retirement and the arrangement of providing their own habitation after
retirement. The information gathering was done through the commanders’ interview especially
those who were in charge of Air Force Officers’ Welfare Unit and passing questionnaires to
investigate Air Force Officers’ opinion about their own preparation. The results found that the
matters of habitation paid very important role in living nowadays since high cost of houses . The
fundamental problem that the officers can not afford their own houses came from quite low salaries
and not enough for their general expense in each month. Consequently, they can not have their
accumulate saving money to buy their own houses. Some group had their debt burden both in and
out system. Besides , the providing of military apartments were convenient for their living and daily
travel including decreasing their spending for each month. However, it was very important that the
military officers should pay attention about the preparation of their own habitation after retirement
due to the effect after retirement would happen both their personal trouble which can not move
out according to the fixed period and the following residents also.From the problems
mentioned the researcher recommended that the unit which took responsible for military
welfare should publicize and educate the involving guideline and good attitude about
preparation of their own habitation to the all military officers . Since they should plan for their own
houses during the official working periodincluding the military units should provide guidelines and
standards to assist military officers as well.
