The ASEAN region is frequently subjected to natural and man-made disasters, resulting in significant damage and loss of life. Recent events, including earthquakes, tsunamis, typhoons, and floods, have underscored the urgent need for enhanced intergovernmental cooperation in disaster mitigation and humanitarian support. This paper emphasizes the critical role of hydrographic cooperation within ASEAN in bolstering disaster resilience. Through comprehensive analysis, the paper highlights the challenges and opportunities in ASEAN's disaster management efforts, examining successful applications of hydrography in disaster relief and identifying areas for improvement. The findings reveal that a coordinated approach, informed by past experiences and addressing existing obstacles, is crucial for building long-term regional resilience. The establishment of a comprehensive hydrographic cooperation framework is vital for ASEAN to enhance its disaster preparedness and response capabilities.
