Military medical service system in counterinsurgency in southern border
province of Thailand developments occurs continuously. When the casualties of
military mission occur, military medical services can adjust to a civilian medical unit
immediately. These adaptations to solve such problems in the mutual benefit both
military and civilian, but may be an obstacle in the development of military medical
service units. In the future, if the situations are worsened, the capacity of military
hospitals in the region should develop to support the increased military mission.
Medical air evacuation in this situation should promote to be used efficiently and
properly. Foundation of Southern Provinces Army Medical Center (SPAMC.) is
responsible for policy and coordination with various high responsibility authorities can
resolves medical logistics and preventive medicine problems. Others mission of
SPAMC is medical support in civil affairs that increase in the future. Military medical
service systems developed in these situations are appropriate. These can solve the
problems of all components of medical service systems and include medical support in
civil affair. RTAMEDD should promote the lesson learned from research to practice to
develop the doctrine of military medical service in the counterinsurgency situation in
the future.
