This dissertation entitled ‘The developmental approach to increase Thai
Youth potential through Buddhist principles in the era of Thailand 4.0’ has three
objectives : 1. To study the concepts and theories about the developmental approaches
to increase Thai youth potential through Buddhist principles. 2. To study conceptual
approaches on media and activities to develop Thai Youth potential through Buddhist
principles. 3. To propose guidelines on activities and media strategies to create
awareness and interest in morality development among Thai Youth. This research
uses qualitative research method and in-depth interviews with media and activity
leaders as well as Buddhist experts. The research results were presented in descriptive
form as follows. The current materialistic and consumer society has created the
value which places importance on the external material and wealth than virtues and
morality. This phenomenal is problematic to the society and thereby it is necessary
for the society to counter balance this by paying attention to the development of
virtues and morality in the Youth who is the future of the country. Buddha dhamma
or Buddhist principles, which is a universal virtues, can help. However, the big
challenge is how to create interest among the youth on the Buddha dhamma. After
the research and interviews of experts, the researcher integrated the Buddhist principle
together with innovative media tools and practiced oriented activities and propose
practical projects that be implemented by any youth agencies and is hopeful that it will
be a prototype for future media and activities to attract and develop morality and
virtue for youth in the era if Thailand 4.0
